Roger Davison

Roger Davison lives a peninsula governed by the elements which has attracted artists for centuries. Unlike artists who paint the everyday scenes and environments Roger likes to experiment and engage in forms of expression which from the point of view of normal description might seem quite crazy. As an outsider artist he believes in the autonomy of art and has been creating his own artistic style for over a quarter of a century. The act of painting and drawing is fundamentally primitive to Davison, connecting him to the symbols, shapes, faces, and figures which inhabit his work seem to come from a place which is best described as intuitive, magical, and entirely relevant, incorporating elements which are timeless, inventive, and imbued with narratives which have universal appeal.
