On his Trading Shoe Leather Tour in 2004 Berlin visited St. Remy. He found himself surrounded by Van Gogh and decided to get inside the head of this great and troubled artist. What followed has taken many years in the making and are a series of stunning paintings that replicate the rhythm and technique of Van Gogh and conjure forth some new masterpieces. Probably the most difficult task that Berlin has undertaken he found the process extremely fatiguing but one only has to see the results to know that the effort was worthwhile. The nuances of Mediterranean light and shade and the unique colour palette show how the artist has paid homage to the great divisionist while creating works that are entirely original, masterful!
The artist uses his hand ground and mixed pigments. Finished with a Bees Wax preservative coat.
