Berlin Academy Of Fine Arts: Rome Prize, 1932 Professor Of Fine Arts Berlin Fine Arts Academy. Position lost in 1933 due to his Jewish birth and radical political positions.
1935 Invited to Soviet Union where he painted steelworkers and revolutionary figures and awarded commissions for portraits of both Stalin and Dimitroff.
Escaped Nazi rule in 1939 on last train out of Czechoslovakia arriving London 1939.
1959 Solo Exhibition Betzalel National Museum, Jerusalem
1966 Major Retrospective in Berlin
