Keith Haring opined that "the public has a right to art. The public needs art and it is the responsibility of the "self proclaimed" artist to realise the public needs art". Moving on several decades street art & graffiti have become accepted art forms and Sax Berlin is fulfilling that responsibility. Scream is an outpouring of emotion and feeling, the public want to be heard and in this stunning work this takes place. Initially anarchic, on closer inspection the symbolism of the painting reveals itself; inverted crowns cast down, replaced by headwear of a more fluid form, little figures in the background. This is a piece to treasure and would grace the walls of any collection.
Oil and acrylic on canvas.
